Title I Survey Now Open!
As a parent or guardian of a child attending a Title I school, your participation is crucial in shaping the Title I team. Your thoughts and opinions are valuable in developing and conducting parent engagement initiatives and events in your school(s). The goal of all Title I programs is to support eligible students in meeting the same high academic standards as their peers.

This survey is confidential, and the responses will aid us in planning future parental involvement activities and events at Lakeside High School. Your feedback is appreciated, and we thank you for taking the time (10 minutes) to complete this survey.

Schedule Change Request Form

Please remember:
We will only be granting schedule changes for the following reasons:
  1. A scheduling conflict resulting in a hole in the schedule or a period with 2 classes.
  2. A class that has already been taken and passed, including through summer school.
  3. A missing class that is needed for a graduation requirement.
  4. A class being re-taken with the same teacher that you already failed with that teacher.
  5. A request to increase course rigor; for example to go from Physics to AP Physics.

Lakeside Legacy Project
The Student Government Association would like to introduce every incoming freshman and new teacher to the legacy of Lakeside pride, spirit, and excellence by giving them a Lakeside spirit shirt. We are collecting gently used Lakeside spirt wear to gift the newest members of our community in the fall.

Current students can drop off to Mrs. Boggs in room 1215 and community members can drop off in the LHS main office between the hours of 10:00am-1:30pm.

Please make sure all spirit wear is washed before donating.

If you do not have any old spirit wear but would still like to contribute, the Walgreens located on the corner of Lavista and Oak Grove Road has Lakeside spirit wear available for purchase.

If you live in any of our surrounding neighborhoods or happen to be a former Viking yourself, please share SGA's Instagram post or the flyer in this news post on your social media or on the Next-Door app!

Chromebook Collection is Here!

We are collecting 12th grade Chromebooks on May 6th and 7th, and 9-11th grades on May 13th, 14th, and 15th. Students will come to the media center with their 5th period class on the class’ assigned day. Any senior who has not returned their Chromebook AND charger or has not paid the replacement fee will not receive graduation tickets.

Lost Charger

If you have lost a Chromebook charger, you may order one here to replace your lost charger, or you may pay the fine for the lost charger here. Alternatively, you may write a check to Lakeside High School for $35.70 with “Chromebook” in the memo.

Lost Chromebook

If you have lost your Chromebook, you are responsible for replacing it by using the Dekalb Parent Portal. If your Chromebook was stolen, make sure to have the police report on hand when you contact the portal. 


Finals
Chromebooks will not be required for finals. If a teacher needs you to have a Chromebook, they have reserved a class set. 

AP Testing
If you need your Chromebook for AP testing, you may hold onto it until the makeup times in the media center:
-Wednesday May 8, 7th Period (seniors)
-Monday, May 13, 5th Period (seniors)
-Friday May 17, 6th and 7th periods (everyone) <-- last chance to get those grad tickets! 
-Monday, May 20, 5th Period (9-11th grade)

EOC Testing is Here!
End of Course Testing for American Literature, Biology, Algebra, and US History will begin next week. The Georgia Board of Education requires all students who are enrolled for credit in any of the courses listed below to take the Georgia End of Course (EOC) upon course completion. The following four courses in Georgia have EOCs:
  1. Biology
  2. U.S. History
  3. American Literature
  4. Algebra: Concepts and Connections

Winter MAP Testing for 9th and 10th Grades
The Winter MAP Assessment at LHS will begin on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, and end on Friday, February 9, 2024, for students taking 9th and 10th grade ELA and Math courses. The MAP test is mandatory for all 9th and 10th-grade students and any student taking a 9th or 10th-grade Math or ELA course.

Homecoming Dance Ticket Information
The Homecoming Dance is coming soon! 
There are two ways to buy tickets: 
1. Online: Tickets are available online in the Webstore until September 20th. Tickets purchased online can be picked up at the ticket table during any lunch. 
2. Cash: On sale during all lunches 9/13-9/22. 

Non-Lakeside students must attend with a current Lakeside student AND complete a guest application. Applications available on the Lakeside website, at the ticket table, and front office. Guest applications are due by 9/20 at 3:15.
